Although spike lavender essential oil has a different composition and contains camphor, it has similar properties for relieving skin irritations, stings and burns. Lavandin, a plant obtained by hybridizing true lavender and lavender aspic, has a less delicate fragrance, but a higher yield. Lavandin essential oil therefore offers similar properties to lavender, but at a lower price.
