At Laboratoire Helpac, we offer several types of chamomile:
Roman chamomile essential oil is renowned for its soothing properties. It can help reduce stress, anxiety and mental tension. An anti-inflammatory, it relieves muscle and joint pain and reduces spasms and cramps. It promotes healing of minor wounds, light burns and skin irritations.
Chamomile matricaria essential oil also has anti-inflammatory properties, making it a popular choice for treating inflamed skin problems such as eczema and dermatitis. Anti-allergic, it alleviates skin reactions and itching. Chamomile essential oil is also often used to relieve abdominal pain caused by digestive spasms.
Tansy chamomile essential oil is also known as “blue chamomile” or “blue tansy chamomile”. Chamomile tansy has active compounds that give it potentially anti-inflammatory, antispasmodic and soothing properties. It is sometimes used to relieve muscle and joint pain, as well as to soothe skin problems. However, it’s important to note that tansy chamomile is not the same as Roman chamomile (Chamaemelum nobile) or matricaria chamomile (Matricaria recutita), which are the two chamomile varieties most commonly used in aromatherapy.
Wild chamomile essential oil, also known as “field chamomile”. It is often confused with chamomile matricaria because of their resemblance and similar names, but they are two distinct plants. Wild chamomile is an annual plant that grows wild in many parts of the world, including Europe and North America. It is characterized by its small white flowers with yellow centers, which resemble those of chamomile. Wild chamomile essential oil has properties similar to those of chamomile matricaria: soothing, relaxing, anti-inflammatory, digestive, skin care.
